Interface II is a Youth in Action EVS (European Voluntary Service) project of mutual sending and hosting between Italy and Portugal and Cambodia, coordinated and promoted by bbjshare.it at both sides with other promoter NGOs in Europe and Cambodia respectively. It aims at acquisition of non-formal experience in cultural diversity, cultural integration and mutual understanding by the volunteers. Through the EVS, bbjshare.it intends to promote active citizenship and to foster mutualunderstanding and tolerance among young people. CambodianVolunteers will be given the chance toexperience on the spot and become practically aware of what Europe is by confronting themselveswith cultural and linguistic diversity. The activities in which volunteers will be involved aim atencouraging active commitment of young people to the construction of a more tolerant and world orientedsociety.

There are two activities. First, 12 Cambodia volunteers go to Europe for six months then another 12 European volunteers come to Cambodia for 6 months as well. The 12 Cambodian volunteers will work in Italy and Portugal from March until the end of August 2010. After their return to Cambodia, there will be a evaluation meeting of the project. All of them will share their experience and discuss future projects. After this, there will be 12 Volunteers form Italy to come to Cambodia.

The Cambodian sending organizations bbjshare.it Cambodia, Youth for Peace (YFP), Khmer Youth and Social Development Organization (KYSD) and Youth Resource Development Program (YRDP) will be responsible for the recruitment, the preparation and the pre-departure training of 12 Cambodian volunteers, which go to the Italian and Portuguese host organizations           read more
